Nikhil Kamath, 3 other entrepreneurs draw up this list"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Indian entrepreneur and investor, Nikhil Kamath recently opened up about what the world thinks about India with Bhakti Modi (Tira), Shantanu Deshpande (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/news\/trends\/bombay-shaving-company-founder-ceo-shantanu-deshpand-most-people-dont-like-their-jobs-99-wont-show-up-to-work-if-11736136211629.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"Bombay Shaving Company\">Bombay Shaving Company<\/a>), and Diipa Khosla (Inde Wild) in the latest episode on his YouTube channel.<\/p>\n<div id=\"article-index-1\">\n<h2>What the world knows India for<\/h2>\n<p>During the conversation, Kamath highlighted how the world associates India with animals like Tigers and snakes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>On this topic, Khosla, Deshpande and Modi pointed out that India is known for things like weddings, yoga, spirituality and food.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have to build on these when we are building a global brand,&#8221; quipped Kamath.<\/p>\n<p>Diipa Khosla cited an example of her mom and explained how exhibits can be given to build a haircare brand from India.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe is 63 years old. She has really long hair.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"article-index-6\">\n<h2>Nikhil Kamath: Foreigners have a mental image of tigers, snakes for India<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cWhen I speak to a foreigner about India, they have a mental image of tigers, snakes and all of that,\u201d said Nikhil Kamath.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI think family. There&#8217;s a lot of Asian culture. The warmth and vibrancy,\u201d added Modi, while Deshpande believes classical music is a part of India.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPunjabi music also,\u201d Khosla added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s stereotyping, I feel India is very vibrant in terms of its colour palette. You always expect an Indian brand to be colourful.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"article-index-10\">\n<h2>India known for Hinduism?<\/h2>\n<p>They also discussed how spirituality is more linked with the country than religion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cMore than religion, I would say spirituality,\u201d remarked Diipa Khosla.<\/p>\n<p>Kamath further asked, \u201cHinduism?\u201d \u201cWe are saying two different things. I don&#8217;t think they look at India purely as Hinduism. But they look at Indians as being very spiritual people. Like we do our morning meditations. None of us does. But, they think we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Khosla went on to share how people think all multinational companies would have one Indian CEO, as India is also known for intellect, intelligence, and education. \u201cEveryone in the West has that one Indian friend who&#8217;s highly educated who&#8217;s doing very well in their career,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n<p>Kamath went on to share a list of things, ranging from Indian weddings to spirituality, that should be kept while making an Indian brand for a global appeal. \u201cIf I am building something from the community, I should pick something from the weddings, culture, colourful, palaces, religion, spirituality, yoga, CEOs, smart and build on top of that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd food,\u201d added Modi, while other founders agreed.<\/p>\n<p>They also mentioned how Indian florals hold potential, as it is still unexplored.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike she has launched jalebi and chai lip balms,\u201d said Bhakti Modi with an example of Diipa Khosla&#8217;s brand products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wouldn&#8217;t launch chicken tikka masala (flavour),\u201d the Inde Wild founder joked.<\/p>\n<p>They also discussed about using <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.livemint.com\/news\/trends\/ai-for-skincare-routine-bhakti-modi-shantanu-deshpande-diipa-khosla-nikhil-kamath-11758475700458.html\" data-vars-page-type=\"story\" data-vars-link-type=\"Manual\" data-vars-anchor-text=\"AI tech\">AI tech<\/a> in finding the right skincare during the conversation.
