Hours after The View<\/a><\/em> hosts condemned the possible role of the FCC in ABC\u2019s now-lifted suspension of Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> Live<\/em>, White House<\/a> communications director Steven Cheung<\/a> is slamming both shows.<\/p>\n \n\tIn an exclusive statement<\/a> to Entertainment Weekly, Cheung said, \u201cJimmy Kimmel is a no-talent loser who has beclowned himself with tanking ratings and by spewing disgusting lies to his audience. That\u2019s why the network kicked him to the curb like a used empty beer can.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tHe continues, \u201cSimilarly, The View<\/em> is also devoid of actual talent, and is a collection of irrelevant has-beens and never-beens that nobody with any commonsense [sic] would ever watch unless it was to laugh at them.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tFor the record: ABC did not kick Kimmel \u201cto the curb,\u201d but rather suspended his show temporarily. The network announced<\/a> today that Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a><\/em> will return tomorrow night.<\/p>\n \n\tEarlier today, The View<\/em> moderator Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the Hot Topics segment by asking, \u201cDid y\u2019all really think we weren\u2019t going to talk about Jimmy Kimmel? I mean, have you watched the show over the last 29 seasons? No one silences us.\u201d That came as the daytime talk show did not address the Kimmel controversy last week, leading to some speculation that ABC was stifling the discussion.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Kimmel controversy began last week when the late-night host said, following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, that MAGA was \u201cdesperately trying to characterize\u201d the suspected shooter \u201cas anything other than one of them and with everything they can to score political points from it.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tOn today\u2019s View<\/em>, Goldberg explained her show\u2019s decision not to immediately comment on Kimmel by saying, \u201cWhen the news broke last week about Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s suspension, we took a breath to see if Jimmy was going to say anything about it first. We did the same thing with Stephen Colbert. Then our show was on tape on Friday.
