Ghana’s record goalscorer, Asamoah Gyan, popped up on the Nigerian<\/a> radar in the past week in the wake of some reports regarding Super Eagles<\/a> striker Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Galatasaray striker could only play 30 minutes in Nigeria’s clash against Rwanda before he was clattered into.<\/p>\n

He tried to continue the game but was taken off five minutes later, replaced by Cyriel Dessers. Upon further examination, it was found that Osimhen suffered a bruised shin<\/a>, and the 26-year-old immediately travelled to Turkey, missing Nigeria’s clash against South Africa and prompting some comments from the club’s coach<\/a>, Okan Buruk.<\/p>\n

Several reports claimed Gyan mentioned Osimhen only claimed to be injured<\/a> so he can return in tip-top form for Galatasaray. \u201cGo to Africa, play a bit, then act injured\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

The comments spread quickly across social media, sparking heated debate among fans of both Nigeria and Ghana.<\/p>\n

Soccer Gyan<\/a> debunks Osimhen<\/a> injury comments<\/h2>\n

However, the former Sunderland forward has come out to claim the reports are false, maintaining he wouldn’t make such statements about one of Africa’s best strikers.<\/p>\n

On his official X account<\/a><\/strong>, the 39-year-old revealed the reports are fabricated as he didn’t grant any recent interviews regarding Nigeria.<\/p>\n
