But what exactly did Tak\u00e1cs say?<\/p>\n<div data-content=\"normal\" data-block=\"hook:665904\" data-block-structure=\"custom\" data-vertical-spacing=\"top:bottom\">\n<article id=\"post-665904\">\n<div>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pglcacademy.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">\n  <picture><source media=\"(max-width: 768px)\" ><source media=\"(min-width: 769px)\" ><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/dailynewshungary.com\/cn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/pglc_desktop.jpg\" alt=\"cn-banner\">\n  <\/picture>\n<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Secretary of State appeared on a programme called\u00a0<em>Harcosok \u00f3r\u00e1ja<\/em>\u00a0(<em>Hour of Warriors<\/em>), where he enthusiastically praised the Hungarian healthcare system. He mentioned having visited Burgenland recently to sign a cooperation agreement aimed at harmonising the region\u2019s emergency services with Hungary\u2019s.<\/p>\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/dailynewshungary.b-cdn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/hungarian-ambulance.jpg\" alt=\"A hungarian ambulance car\"  ><figcaption>Rescue exercise in Z\u00e1nka. Source: MTI\/Tibor Katona<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Tak\u00e1cs recounted that when an Austrian paramedic steps into a Hungarian ambulance, they are left speechless because, to them, a Hungarian ambulance looks like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a mobile intensive care unit,<\/li>\n<li>equipped with GPS, unlike its Austrian counterpart,<\/li>\n<li>operated via an online system, whereas Austria still uses magnetic boards to track ambulance locations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to Tak\u00e1cs, Burgenland\u2019s ambulance services will require EU funding to be brought up to Hungary\u2019s level.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/hellomagyar.hu\/2023\/02\/12\/hazatertek-a-hosok-tucatnyi-embereletet-mentett-meg-a-magyar-mentocsapat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">The heroes have returned<\/a>: the Hungarian rescue team saved dozens of lives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is what triggered <a href=\"https:\/\/telex.hu\/belfold\/2025\/09\/09\/takacs-peter-burgenland-mento-reakcio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Hans Peter Doskozil\u2019s reaction<\/a>. He accused Tak\u00e1cs of making false statements about Burgenland\u2019s emergency services, calling the remarks humiliating. Doskozil wrote an open letter to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orb\u00e1n demanding a public correction and urging the Hungarian government to avoid similar remarks in the future. \u201cCooperation between our two countries must be based on mutual respect, not false claims,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dailynewshungary.com\/austria-tough-new-rules-migrants-refugees\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Austria imposes strict rules on immigration and asylum seekers<\/a>: \u201cIntegration is over\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Diplomatic tensions with Doskozil are nothing new<\/h2>\n<p>This is not the first time Hungary\u2019s government and Burgenland\u2019s Social Democratic leadership have clashed. Tensions also flared in January ahead of regional elections. A missing 10-kilometre stretch of motorway between Hungary\u2019s M85 and Austria\u2019s A3 near Eisenstadt was at the centre of the dispute.<\/p>\n<p>Gergely Guly\u00e1s, Minister of the Prime Minister\u2019s Office, stated that Hungary had extended the M85 to the border, but Austria stopped short in Eisenstadt and, citing \u201cenvironmental reasons,\u201d the local leadership reversed its earlier promise to complete the Austrian section.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is an absurd situation that two motorways fail to connect due to a 10-kilometre gap,\u201d Guly\u00e1s remarked, adding that the delay was not financial. He recalled that earlier efforts to collaborate with Hans Peter Doskozil had shown promise, but the pledged completion of the missing section never materialised.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dailynewshungary.com\/budapest-vienna-austria-shouldnt-lecture\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Budapest\u2013Vienna clash<\/a>: \u201cAustria shouldn\u2019t lecture Hungary!\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He added that Burgenland has been under predominantly left-wing leadership since the 1960s, but regardless of election outcomes, Hungary is ready to work with anyone on this issue, which he stressed is of crucial importance.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary\u2019s political ally, the Freedom Party of Austria (FP\u00d6), ultimately secured just under 10% of the vote, winning four seats in the 36-member regional assembly (Landtag).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More news on <a href=\"https:\/\/dailynewshungary.com\/tag\/austria\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Austria<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Hungarian Medical Chamber also outraged by Tak\u00e1cs<\/h2>\n<p>Earlier, the Hungarian Medical Chamber (MOK) also protested against Tak\u00e1cs following another appearance on\u00a0<em>Harcosok \u00f3r\u00e1ja<\/em>.
