Two people were killed when a plane crashed into a a Colorado<\/a> business park and burst into flames early Friday morning.<\/p>\n

A Beechcraft BE35 with two people on board crashed shortly after taking off from Centennial Airport, just outside Denver, around 6.25am, according to the\u00a0Federal Aviation Administration.<\/p>\n

Both people, who have not been identified were killed in the crash, which sparked a fire near a business park with a large generator, reported KDVR<\/a>.<\/p>\n

South Metro Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene, which was initially reported as an explosion.<\/p>\n

‘We did arrive on scene just south of Centennial Airport,’\u00a0South Metro Fire Rescue Public Information Specialist Brian Willie said a press conference.<\/p>\n

‘We did find a single-engine aircraft that was fully involved with a structure that was threatened with a large bank of generators that was also threatened. We were able to get water on the fire and put that out.’<\/p>\n

South Metro Fire Rescue confirmed there was no damage to the generators or the building that was threatened by the flames, reported\u00a0CBS News Colorado<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Desmond Brown, who works in a neighboring building, described hearing a ‘loud boom’ after the plane went down.<\/p>\n

South Metro Fire Rescue confirmed there was no damage to the generators or the building that was threatened by the flames<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

‘I was inside to my place of business, and I was working, and we just heard a loud boom,’ Brown told Denver7<\/a>.<\/p>\n

‘So when we heard a loud boom, me and my coworkers came outside, we noticed a big ball of flames across them. Over here, we was wondering what it was.\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘We thought it was a generator at first, and then next thing we heard when another coworker came up to and said it was a plane that went down.’<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating the crash along with the NTSB.<\/p>\n

The Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Deborah Takahara said it was lightly raining at the time of the crash and noted that\u00a0it was unlikely that airport operations had been impacted.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It comes just weeks after a pilot walked away unscathed from a crash at Centennial Airport.<\/p>\n

On August 22, a single-engine biplane nose-dived into a field beside the airport, according to South Metro Fire Rescue.<\/p>\n

The pilot was uninjured and crews worked to contained a small fuel leak from the crash.<\/p>\n
