SoFi halted its crypto offerings in November 2023, saying the decision was after \u201ccareful consideration,\u201d and gave its crypto users the option to either liquidate their holdings or migrate them to Blockchain.com, a leading crypto <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/crypto-exchange-reviews\"><span>exchange<\/span><\/a><span>. SoFi plans to resume offering crypto services sometime this year, with offerings ranging from crypto trading to crypto loans.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoins <span>New SoFi, New Crypto Experiences<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>According to SoFi, the crypto return comes with its revamped platform. The new platform offers a \u201cseamless\u201d crypto experience that\u2019s \u201cmanageable with the rest of [users] finances.\u201d The firms said it\u2019ll continue expanding its crypto offering to include crypto-based payment options and new staking features.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Next\u2014that\u2019s right, crypto is returning to SoFi! It, however, disclosed that crypto holdings won\u2019t be protected by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) or the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to SoFi CEO Anthony Noto, the future of financial services lies in crypto, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/blockchain-news\"><span>blockchain<\/span><\/a><span>, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/is-it-time-we-ditched-cryptocurrencies-for-digital-assets\"><span>digital assets<\/span><\/a><span>. Noto <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/investors.sofi.com\/news\/news-details\/2025\/The-Future-of-Financial-Services-SoFi-to-Offer-Members-New-Crypto-Enabled-Capabilities-to-Get-Their-Money-Right\/default.aspx#:~:text=%E2%80%9CThe%20future%20of%20financial%20services,Anthony%20Noto%2C%20CEO%20of%20SoFi.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span>disclosed<\/span><\/a><span> that \u201ccrypto and blockchain innovations can and will be threaded through\u201d the firm\u2019s businesses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoins <span>PayPal, Mastercard, and Visa Already Exploring Crypto<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>SoFi\u2019s decision to return to the crypto scene comes as other traditional financial services firms continue exploring the crypto world. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/paypal-adds-chainlink-and-solana-to-crypto-lineup\"><span>PayPal<\/span><\/a><span>, for example, has even <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/paypal-subpoenaed-over-pyusd-stablecoin\"><span>launched<\/span><\/a><span> its own <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/crypto-guides\/tether-usdt\/what-is-a-stablecoin\"><span>stablecoin<\/span><\/a><span>, PYUSD,\u00a0 to ease the movement of funds across borders.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>PayPal CEO Dan Schulman <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/paypal-ceo-crypto-will-redefine-the-financial-world\"><span>believes<\/span><\/a><span> that crypto has the potential to redefine the financial world.
