{"id":869690,"date":"2025-09-01T21:12:35","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T02:12:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/01\/administrators-eye-claim-against-ex-specialists-directors-over-office-sale\/"},"modified":"2025-09-01T21:12:35","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T02:12:35","slug":"administrators-eye-claim-against-ex-specialists-directors-over-office-sale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/01\/administrators-eye-claim-against-ex-specialists-directors-over-office-sale\/","title":{"rendered":"Administrators eye claim against ex-specialist\u2019s directors over office sale"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wrapper_sleeve\">\n<p><img width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ca.emap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2023\/08\/administration_shutterstock_55171798.jpg\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  alt=\"administration_shutterstock_55171798.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Administrators for specialist Malin Industrial Concrete Floors are considering issuing a claim against its former directors.<\/p>\n<p>The Greater Manchester-based firm, which worked mainly on laser screed flooring for major contractors including Buckingham Group and Sir Robert McAlpine, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/financial\/administrations\/fast-growing-floor-specialist-collapses-into-administration-07-02-2023\/\">went under in February 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A report by Forvis Mazars, published last week, said that the company\u2019s commercial offices and warehouse in Sale were sold before administrators were appointed.<\/p>\n<p>In the \u00a325.6m-turnover firm\u2019s final draft management accounts they were valued at \u00a3760,000.<\/p>\n<p>Administrators have been trying to agree a settlement for months, with one of the former firm\u2019s two directors making an offer last year.<\/p>\n<p>The insolvency specialists said that they asked for income, expenditure and asset information from both directors but did not receive a response.<\/p>\n<p>It had a legal claim issued to the pair in October last year, giving them 21 days to respond, the administrators\u2019 update said.<\/p>\n<p>This was extended by 21 days after a solicitor on behalf of\u00a0 the director that had not made the offer asked for more time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, no response was received by the deadline and the solicitor later confirmed that they were no longer instructed,\u201d the administrators said.<\/p>\n<p>The administrators said they have been speaking to solicitors and creditor representatives to agree next steps in a \u201cpotential claim against the directors\u201d this year.<\/p>\n<p>The report said no further comment could be made on the potential claims at this stage.<\/p>\n<p>Some 93 unsecured creditors have submitted claims worth a combined \u00a36.1m so far, with Bibby Financial Services owed \u00a31.2m for a loan.<\/p>\n<p>HMRC has submitted a final claim of \u00a3326,788, of which \u00a378,116 has been claimed as preferential and \u00a3248,672 claimed as non-preferential.<\/p>\n<p>The finance company has been repaid \u00a3634,482 so far.<\/p>\n<p>It is not known how much will be raised in total to repay creditors, the administrators\u2019 report added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/financial\/administrations\/administrators-eye-claim-against-ex-specialists-directors-over-office-sale-01-09-2025\/\" class=\"button purchase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read More<\/a><br \/>\n Ian Weinfass<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Administrators for specialist Malin Industrial Concrete Floors are considering issuing a claim against its former directors.
