Copyright: Imago<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>While sources suggested red flags during the examination, the club\u2019s decision to sign Chelsea forward Nkunku, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transfermarkt.com\/christopher-nkunku\/verletzungen\/spieler\/344381\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who is a player with a much more concerning injury record<\/a>, has sparked speculation that the collapse was not purely down to health concerns,<a href=\"https:\/\/soccernet.ng\/2025\/08\/allegri-boniface-ac-milan-move.html\"> as earlier noted by Soccernet.ng<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Nkuku has endured a torrid spell since moving to Chelsea in 2023, missing over 30 games due to a combination of knee and hamstring problems.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, Boniface\u2019s only major setback came last season, when a groin injury sidelined him for a significant part of Leverkusen\u2019s campaign, per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transfermarkt.com\/victor-boniface\/verletzungen\/spieler\/656681\/plus\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Transfermarkt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Soccer Allegri&#8217;s Veto on AC Milan Transfer<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/soccernet.ng\/2025\/08\/allegri-boniface-ac-milan-move.html\">As earlier reported by Soccernet.ng<\/a>, head coach Massimiliano Allegri may have played a decisive role. Allegri reportedly harboured doubts about Boniface\u2019s fit in his tactical setup. He has proved himself in Germany with his goals and work rate, but Milan is a different kind of challenge, a club where the expectations are always high.
