So, it was shocking when the current HC of the Clippers and a former teammate of Mamba would \u2018bad mouth\u2019 the Lakers legend. But is there any truth to it?<\/p>\n \u201cSomething I had to clean up, I want to clean up today, and I talked to John Salley already<\/em>\u201c. For context, Salley, on Byron Scott\u2019s podcast, alleged that Ty Lue was one of the players talking s\u2014 behind Kobe\u2019s back. But Lue stood on business and on Shannon Sharpe\u2019s podcast, discrediting that narrative. \u201cBut John Salley told a story that I was talking s\u2014 about Kobe. I\u2019m like, Kobe, my man, I wouldn\u2019t. He (Salley) said, \u2018No, I didn\u2019t say that, it got cut in the snip.<\/em>\u2018\u201d The 48-year-old listened to his former teammate but issued him an ultimatum.<\/p>\n \u201cI said, \u2018No, you got to clean that up, because that\u2019s my guy, and I would never talk shit about Kobe.\u2019 You know, so he said he got a podcast with the same people two weeks from now, and he\u2019s going to clean it up, because that\u2019s not the way it happened<\/em>.\u201d Lue on Club Shay Shay, spoke in length about his NBA career, and obviously, his time with the Lakers alongside Kobe and Shaq. For one season, Salley was part of the time and won the \u2018oo championship. Like I\u2019m not going to say names, Ty Lue<\/strong>. And I go, and I sit next to him, and I go, \u2018you\u2019re not listening to anything, are you?\u2019 He (Kobe) goes, \u2018no, I\u2019m listening to them, they think I\u2019m on. They think I have this on.<\/em>\u2018\u201d The Lakers players were on an apparent plane ride when Kobe had his headphones while the other players were busy with cards.<\/p>\n Salley continued, \u201cI said, it doesn\u2019t bother you? He said, \u2018Nah, I know who likes me, who doesn\u2019t? I\u2019m cool with that. I don\u2019t hang out with them anyway.<\/em>\u2018\u201d Even though the Lakers legend didn\u2019t care about his teammates talking behind his back. Lue cared about their bond and hence the clarification.<\/p>\n The Lakers legend, alongside his daughter Gianna and 7 others, unfortunately lost their lives five years ago. So, it\u2019s obvious, any negative statement against Black Mamba would feel personal to his fans. Especially those statements that affect his character. One such statement that made rounds last year was:\u201dKobe had them chicks, though<\/em>.\u201d To make matters worse, the following statement was about the 5x NBA champion\u2019s wife. \u201cVanessa ain\u2019t watching this<\/em>.\u201d This came from Sebastian Telfair on DJ Vlad\u2019s show last year.<\/p>\n\n
