Here, spies become heroes, and heroes become legends. Think <em>Iris<\/em> and <em>City Hunter<\/em>. Each twist and turn reveals dark secrets and graphic action, just like in <em>My Name<\/em>. And it doesn\u2019t matter that the stakes are high because the thrills are still very addictive\u2014like in <em>Vagabond<\/em> and <em>Snowdrop<\/em>. Here are some of the most iconic K-dramas featuring charismatic spies and their treacherous missions\u2014stories that still entertain years later.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Iris<\/em><\/strong><strong> (2009)<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>One of the most expensive K-dramas out there in terms of budget, <em>Iris<\/em> was a massive hit, sweeping the 2009 KBS Drama Awards, including the Daesang Award for <a href=\"https:\/\/rollingstoneindia.com\/tag\/lee-byung-hun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lee Byung-hun<\/a>. A year later, Hyeong-Jun returns to Korea for revenge, but he must also face the secret society \u201cIris,\u201d which won\u2019t just let the two Koreas reunite. Trained for years by his father\u2019s best friend, he begins working in South Korea\u2019s presidential palace, the Blue House, while secretly biding his time. There, he meets Kim Na-na (<a href=\"https:\/\/rollingstoneindia.com\/tag\/park-min-young\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Park Min-young<\/a>), a skilled bodyguard who becomes his ally as well as his love interest.<\/p>\n<p>While Yoon-sung aims at his targets, he becomes the force of justice\u2014the \u201cCity Hunter\u201d\u2014that\u2019s got the whole nation talking. Based on Tsukasa Hojo\u2019s iconic manga series of the same name, Director Jin Hyuk\u2019s live-action adaptation brings the story to life.
