The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board <\/strong>(PGCB) has published its financial report for July, highlighting a double-digit increase in gaming revenue. While most verticals experienced growth, table games, VGTs, and fantasy sports declined slightly.<\/p>\n

Online Gaming, Especially Slots, Experienced Stellar Growth<\/h2>\n

According to the PGCB, the combined total revenue generated by the state\u2019s gaming industry reached $557.7 million <\/strong>for the month, up 11.36% year-on-year. For comparison, the revenue for July 2024 stood at approximately $501 million.<\/p>\n

The regulator further noted that retail slots generated $208.5 million <\/strong>of the grand total, making them the single most profitable vertical. This figure translates to a 2% increase from the $204.3 million reported in the prior-year period.<\/p>\n

Retail table game revenue, meanwhile, declined slightly to $76.2 million<\/strong>. This figure is equivalent to a decrease of almost 4% from the $79.4 million in July 2024.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, the iGaming slot sector experienced a staggering 41.3% growth in revenue to $177.2 million<\/strong>. Online slots experienced the highest growth out of all verticals, attesting to online gaming\u2019s potential.<\/p>\n

iGaming Tables revenue also experienced growth, albeit more modestly. The PGCB\u2019s report highlighted revenue of $48.5 million <\/strong>for the sector, up 4% YOY. iGaming poker revenue increased by almost 10% YOY, reaching $2.5 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sports betting revenue, on the other hand, increased by 5.2% to $40.6 million<\/strong>. For comparison, the sports betting sector reported $38.6 million in revenue in July 2024.<\/p>\n

The Video Gaming Terminal (VGT) sector\u2019s revenue dipped slightly (-1%) to $3.5 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Finally, fantasy contests\u2019 revenue plummeted by 17% to $592,766<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course Topped the Revenue Charts<\/h2>\n

Taking a look at how the state\u2019s various operators performed, it becomes clear that Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course<\/strong>, Golden Nugget<\/strong>, and Presque Isle Downs and Casino <\/strong>were the biggest winners in terms of revenue change, with their revenues increasing by 30.2%, 37.1%, and 41%, respectively. The three properties\u2019 revenues reached $103.5 million<\/strong>, $7.6 million<\/strong>, and $12.5 million<\/strong>, respectively.<\/p>\n

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course also topped the total revenue chart, followed by Valley Forge Casino Resort <\/strong>with $88.9 million <\/strong>(up 19.2% YOY), and Rivers Casino Philadelphia <\/strong>with $57.5 million<\/strong> (up 16.6% YOY).<\/p>\n

Conversely, the Casino at Nemacolin<\/strong> remained at the bottom of the revenue chart ($2.7<\/strong> million<\/strong>), despite experiencing a respectable 12.1% increase year-on-year.<\/p>\n

In other news, the Senate in Pennsylvania recently advanced a new bill<\/a> that would lower the slot machine count on casino floors.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
