Here\u2019s what happened in the Latin music world this week.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Entertainment<br \/>\n\t\tMaria Becerra\u2019s Acting Debut \t<\/h2>\n<p>\n\tArgentine singer-songwriter Maria\u00a0Becerra has made acting debut on Netflix\u2019s new series <em>En El Barro<\/em>, the spin-off of the series<em> El Marginal<\/em>, produced by Netflix and Underground, a division of Telemundo Studios. The program, created nine years ago, honors and recognizes professional and socially conscious women in the arts and Latin entertainment fields who have made significant contributions and inspired future leaders.<\/p>\n<div data-pmc-adm-ad-id=\"10140245\">\n<h3>\n\t\t\tTrending on Billboard\t\t<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\n\tThe honorees are singer-songwriter Rozalen, and Latin music executives Maricarmen \u201cTuti\u201d Bou, Amarilys Germ\u00e1n, and Paula Kaminsky. The women will be celebrated during Latin Grammy Week in Las Vegas, with Amazon Music joining as presenting sponsor for the second consecutive year.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI am proud to present our Leading Ladies of Entertainment honorees, an exceptional group of women who have distinguished themselves not just through their successful careers but also through their work outside of the professional realm,\u201d <strong>Manuel Abud<\/strong>, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy, said in a statement. \u201cOur past honorees have helped grow our Mentorship Program, and we look forward to having this year\u2019s class continue that legacy and empower future generations of young women.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Entertainment<br \/>\n\t\tGloria Trevi\u2019s Special Honor\t<\/h2>\n<p>\n\tMexican star Gloria Trevi will be the 2025 Hispanic Heritage Legend Award honoree, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation announced earlier this week. \u201cHer fearless artistry, record-breaking tours and unwavering advocacy embody the spirit of this\u00a0recognition,\u201d Antonio Tijerino, Hispanic Heritage Foundation president\/CEO, said  in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe ceremony will take place on Sept. 4 at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C., and will air nationally on PBS. Rauw Alejandro\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/awards\/rauw-alejandro-new-album-title-hispanic-heritage-award-honor-1236042608\/\">was\u00a0previously announced\u00a0as<\/a>\u00a0the 2025 Hispanic Heritage Award honoree for Vision.<\/p>\n<h2>Entertainment<br \/>\n\t\tDY Returns to Latin Music Week\t<\/h2>\n<p>\n\tDY is set to speak at the 2025\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/t\/billboard-latin-music-week\/\">Billboard Latin Music Week<\/a>, slated to run Oct. 20\u201324 at the Fillmore Miami Beach. The Puerto Rican superstar will lead the panel titled \u201cThe Power of Reinvention,\u201d where the hitmaker will open up about his \u201clegendary career, the evolution of his artistry, and how he is shaping his next chapter,\u201d according to a press release. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tLatin Music Week will feature panels, live performances, workshops, and networking events, wrapping up with a special celebration concert on Oct. 24. The event aligns with the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards, airing live from Miami on Thursday, Oct. 23 on Telemundo and Peacock.
