Captain of the Super Falcons<\/a> of Nigeria Rasheedat Ajibade has revealed that the government has yet to pay them the royalties promised for their WAFCON 2024 triumph, Soccernet.ng reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n Justin Madugu’s side did the unthinkable in the competition’s final against Morocco, overturning a first-half two-goal deficit to secure a 3-2 win<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ajibade was the WAFCON 2024<\/a> Player of the Tournament and gave a speech during the trophy unveiling with Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging the NFF to invest in facilities<\/a> that would help elevate the level of football to a higher standard, enabling the Super Falcons to compete on the World Stage.<\/p>\n Get Our Sports News First \u2013\u00a0Join Our WhatsApp Channel Now!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The Confederation of African Football (CAF) awarded Nigeria\u2019s Super Falcons $1,000,000 for winning the 2024 WAFCON<\/a>, doubling the $500,000 awarded to the WAFCON 2022 winner.<\/p>\n President Bola Ahmed Tinubu then announced<\/a> that each player will receive $100,000 (in Naira equivalent, approximately \u20a6153 million), while 11 technical crew members will receive $50,000 (~\u20a675.6 million).<\/p>\n All players and staff were conferred with the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), and each team member was also given a furnished 3-bedroom apartment in the \u201cRenewed Hope\u201d housing estate.<\/p>\n Additionally, the Nigeria Governors\u2019 Forum, led by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, announced \u20a610 million in cash to each team member (players and staff).<\/p>\n However, the Super Falcons captain has come out to clear the air, stating that none of the promises made by the Nigerian government have been fulfilled.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have not received our money. They haven’t delivered it. They will pay,\u201d the former Atletico Madrid midfielder said in an interview with Chude<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n All the promises we’ve been hearing, none have been fulfilled, so people should know, but hopefully soon. When they pay, it’ll be out there.
