Originally undrafted and cut by the Washington Redskins, Newton found a home in Dallas, where his size and strength helped pave the way for Emmitt Smith\u2019s record-setting career. A six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro, Newton started in three Super Bowl victories (XXVII, XXVIII, XXX) and was a vocal leader on and off the field, known for his energy and personality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best known for:<\/strong><br \/>Newton was best known for being a cornerstone of the Cowboys\u2019 legendary offensive line, helping protect Troy Aikman and open up rushing lanes for Emmitt Smith during their Super Bowl runs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lesser known fact:<\/strong><br \/>Before making his mark in the NFL, Newton played for the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL.
