{"id":864661,"date":"2025-07-24T03:23:26","date_gmt":"2025-07-24T08:23:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/24\/wike-unveils-plans-to-upgrade-ibb-golf-club-to-international-standard\/"},"modified":"2025-07-24T03:23:26","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T08:23:26","slug":"wike-unveils-plans-to-upgrade-ibb-golf-club-to-international-standard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/24\/wike-unveils-plans-to-upgrade-ibb-golf-club-to-international-standard\/","title":{"rendered":"Wike unveils plans to upgrade IBB Golf Club to international standard"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has announced plans to renovate and upgrade the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalaccordnewspaper.com\/wike-inaugurates-board-of-trustees-for-ibb-golf-club\/\">IBB International Golf and Country Club <\/a>to international standard.<\/p>\n<p>Wike made the announcement during a visit to the club in Abuja on Saturday, where he assessed the facilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is better we put the place in order quickly, so that when people come in, they will have where they can relax, have their drinks and rest,\u201d Wike said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the renovation would begin with the Club House and proceed in phases, with Julius Berger construction company handling the project.<\/p>\n<p>The minister emphasized the importance of making the club a tourist centre to attract investments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, I want to advise the Board of Trustees (BOT) to initiate some innovative ideas for revenue generation to maintain the club instead of depending wholly on the government,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Wike urged the BOT and the Interim Management Committee (IMC) to work together to uplift the standard of the club.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not allow anybody to take what belongs to us. We will not allow that.
