This is the bizarre experience of a Texas man who claims he was married to his ex-fianc\u00e9e without his knowledge. The 42-year-old man, whose identity has not been revealed, admitted to having been in a committed relationship with 36-year-old Kristin Marie Spearman and visiting the Wayne County clerk\u2019s office to get a marriage license. However, the pair never made it to the altar. They got into an argument, and the man told Spearman that he didn\u2019t want to be in a relationship with her, but his ex-fianc\u00e9e had other plans\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.odditycentral.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/marriage-license.jpg\" alt width=\"750\" height=\"500\"  ><span id=\"more-83741\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/unsplash.com\/photos\/a-man-in-a-suit-writing-on-a-piece-of-paper-hPCxZUDqdaY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Hananeh Risi\/Unsplash<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, just days after breaking up with his girlfriend, the 42-year-old man received a gift bag from Bath &#038; Body Works, which contained some products as well as a copy of an officiated marriage license dated June 13 with his and Spearman\u2019s names on it, and a photo of his ex-fiancee hoding up the document legally recognizing their union.<\/p>\n<p>According to the McLennan County website, a couple must show up in person and have valid identification to receive an application for a marriage license, but in this unusual case, Kristin Marie Spearman allegedly managed to get a local pastor to certify the marriage even though the groom wasn\u2019t in attendance.
