{"id":860509,"date":"2025-07-06T19:11:56","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T00:11:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/06\/gleeson-homes-chief-exec-leaves-business-after-restructure\/"},"modified":"2025-07-06T19:11:56","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T00:11:56","slug":"gleeson-homes-chief-exec-leaves-business-after-restructure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/06\/gleeson-homes-chief-exec-leaves-business-after-restructure\/","title":{"rendered":"Gleeson Homes chief exec leaves business after restructure"},"content":{"rendered":"<article id=\"post-499351\">\n<div>\n<p>The move follows a restructuring at the company after \u201cgross margin had come under pressure through the year due to the cumulative impact of a number of headwinds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Parent company MJ Gleeson led a review of the business called Project Transform last Autumn after \u201cissues around process and compliance with procedures within the business, which were resulting in cost overruns, had been identified.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a data-ad-id=\"492636\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwinchmorebrickwork.co.uk%2Fabout-us%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/WINChMORE_JOBS_MPU.gif\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The review identified the need for organisational and management changes \u201cdesigned to shorten reporting lines, empower the divisional leadership teams and strengthen regional management as well as reinforcing controls and driving local ownership and accountability.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a data-ad-id=\"124439\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hudsoncontract.co.uk%2Fhudson-freelance%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/KCD043_MPU_Freelance_555x400px_Opt1_v1b.gif\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The changes which have mainly now been completed at a cost of \u00a31.2m mean:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mark Knight has stepped down from his role of Chief Executive of Gleeson Homes and left the business.<\/li>\n<li>The Northern division will continue to be run by Andy Davies.\u00a0 The Central division will be run by Scott Stothard who is joining the business from Vistry where he was Divisional Chair<\/li>\n<li>Simon Topliss, previously Gleeson Homes Finance Director, has been appointed to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for central functions, driving performance and governance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The board now expects that profit before tax and exceptional items for FY2026 will be at or around \u00a324.5m \u2013 the lower end of current market expectations.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a data-ad-id=\"494158\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.agd-equipment.co.uk%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AGD002_AGD-MPU_Pilers_300x250_2.gif\"><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Graham Prothero, CEO of MJ Gleeson said: <span>\u201cThis was a challenging year for Gleeson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAs well as external factors, it had become clear that our commercial delivery was not where we needed it to be.
