{"id":860050,"date":"2025-07-04T19:11:49","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T00:11:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/04\/fb-ellmer-appointed-on-new-stand-at-lords-cricket-ground\/"},"modified":"2025-07-04T19:11:49","modified_gmt":"2025-07-05T00:11:49","slug":"fb-ellmer-appointed-on-new-stand-at-lords-cricket-ground","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/04\/fb-ellmer-appointed-on-new-stand-at-lords-cricket-ground\/","title":{"rendered":"FB Ellmer appointed on new stand at Lord\u2019s cricket ground"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wrapper_sleeve\">\n<p><img width=\"620\" height=\"414\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ca.emap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2025\/07\/allen-stand_1024x683_144dpi.webp\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"  alt=\"allen-stand_1024x683_144dpi.webp\"><\/p>\n<p>Image from Wilkinson Eyre architects<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has chosen Byrne Group subsidiary FB Ellmer to rebuild a stand at the iconic Lord\u2019s cricket ground.<\/p>\n<p>The project, part of a wider \u00a3200m wider redevelopment of the ground, will see the Allen Stand rebuilt.<\/p>\n<p>MCC originally appointed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/buildings\/northern-irish-contractor-bowls-into-60m-lords-revamp-09-05-2024\/\">Graham<\/a> last year to carry out the work as part of a \u00a360m redevelopment of one corner of the ground, which would also have seen the Tavern Stand rebuilt.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood MCC has appointed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/financial\/robust-performance-lifts-byrne-group-profit-16-10-2024\/\">Byrne Group<\/a> subsidiary FB Ellmer on a limited preconstruction services agreement (PCSA).<\/p>\n<p>MCC has written to members asking them to approve the move at a special general meeting on 21 July.<\/p>\n<p>If approved, the PSCA will be superseded by the signing of a contract with Ellmer, <em>Construction News<\/em>\u00a0understands.<\/p>\n<p>The Allen Stand project is phase one of the Tavern and Allen Stands Project, which received planning consent last year.<\/p>\n<p>The work will see the stand\u2019s capacity increased by 190 to 806 along and will include bars and washrooms at every level.<\/p>\n<p>MCC is looking to have the work completed in time for the 2027 Ashes.<\/p>\n<p>It has previously said Lord\u2019s will remain fully operational throughout the project.<\/p>\n<p>The Bryne Group was ranked 84th in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/financial\/cn100-2024-turnover-up-profit-down-as-inflation-bites-12-09-2024\/\">2024 CN100<\/a> with a turnover of \u00a3191m.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<section id=\"miso-related-article-grid\">\n<p><h3>Related Articles<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contracts\/fb-ellmer-appointed-on-new-stand-at-lords-cricket-ground-03-07-2025\/\" class=\"button purchase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read More<\/a><br \/>\n Nicola Harley<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Image from Wilkinson Eyre architects Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has chosen Byrne Group subsidiary FB Ellmer to rebuild a stand at the iconic Lord\u2019s cricket ground.
