The 88-year-old pontiff died on Easter Monday April 21, 2025, after a battling illness for weeks which saw hi admitted to Gemelli Hospital in Rome.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

He had severe pneumonia affecting both lungs.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n
