Mavi<\/a> has tapped Earl Sweatshirt<\/a> for his first single of 2025. \u201cLandgrab<\/a>\u201d is the rappers\u2019 second collaboration, following their 2019 Feet of Clay<\/em><\/a> link-up \u201cEl Toro Combo Meal<\/a>.\u201d It\u2019s also the first proper Mavi single to feature a guest. Hollywood Cole produced the new track, and it\u2019s accompanied by a music video directed by Jesse Fox Hallen<\/a>. Watch it below.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt makes sense that Thebe [Kgositsile aka Earl Sweatshirt] is the first rap feature, as I\u2019m forming into a new shape of Mavi, doing a bunch of stuff for the first time,\u201d Mavi said in a statement to Pitchfork. \u201cEarl was the first person to bring me out in a collaborative way, so it feels like, as I\u2019m entering this new paradigm, I want him to accompany me through that door as he did before.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cMy first few projects served as something like the preface to my story of me entering young adulthood and this industry, learning my powers in terms of rap, art, and business. Now, I\u2019m manipulating the forces in a different way, having a lot more fun, with a lot more collaboration coming soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
