The AI assistant Gemini supports the integration of various Google apps, including Calendar, Drive, Docs, Maps, YouTube, and others. The Android version also works with Spotify, OpenStax, WhatsApp, and Photos.<\/p>\n

The new version of its app was previewed last month, and 9to5Google spotted it is finally hitting devices. It adds two new components: the first allows it to look through backed-up images and photos to search for faces, locations, and dates, and it also offers response-specific prompts, such as “show recent selfies” or “find photos of landscapes.”<\/p>\n

The second component is more data-hungry, asking questions such as “where did I eat vegan food in Lisbon?” and “what is the driver’s license of the Ferrari I saw in Bergamo?” Tapping a result opens the Photos app, and there is a “Show more” button for more details.<\/p>\n

Google Photos can be enabled through the Android app of Gemini. In the top-right corner, in the Profile Menu, there is Apps; scroll to Media, and enable Google Photos. It should be next to Spotify and YouTube, but the app is rolling out gradually\u2014it is currently available only in the US.<\/p>\n
