The commodity traders aren\u2019t bound by those same guardrails. They\u2019re conducting sports wagering without a licence and, in doing so, they\u2019re avoiding the collection of sports wagering taxes that legal operators pay to the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdgaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Robinhood-4-7-25.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Robinhood<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdgaming.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Kalshi-4-7-25.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kalshi<\/a> and Crypto.com have been notified that their prediction markets directly violate Maryland\u2019s gaming laws, which specifically define what constitutes sports wagering <a>\u2013<\/a> namely, the outcome of a sporting event.
