It\u2019s changing how companies of all sizes run their operations, from startups to big enterprises. \u201cBusinesses need to shift to SaaS right now because of a number of reasons,\u201d said\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/bolundqvist\/?originalSubdomain=ph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Bo Lundqvist<\/a>, President of Retail Associates. \u201cOne, cost. Costs of on-premises is going to go right up\u2026 because tech companies are going to drive it up. Hardware, electricity, scarcity of people, all that\u2019s going to go up. So maintaining is going to be expensive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cNew innovation. It is not going to happen on-premises. Innovation will happen in [the] cloud. So if you want your business to be at the forefront of taking advantage of technology\u2026 it\u2019s happening today. If you want to be a productive company, on-prem is not the place.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/steven-davis-b7b84316\/?originalSubdomain=ph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Steven Davis<\/a>, Chairman of the Data Center Association of the Philippines, also stressed the value of SaaS: \u201cSaaS is evolving on its own. It\u2019s got its own natural progression. It has companies doing your business and tools for you right from day one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the shift isn\u2019t just about <a href=\"https:\/\/coingeek.com\/ai-software-market-to-reach-678b-by-2028-north-america-leading-charge-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">software<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/coingeek.com\/blockchain101\/blockchain-basics-key-things-to-know-as-a-beginner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Blockchain<\/a> is stepping up as a powerful layer in today\u2019s cloud-based systems. \u201cBlockchain\u2019s a very unique tool,\u201d said Davis. \u201cI\u2019ve always been a big fan of it. One, the back-end processing, the amount of time, effort, and money you can save by leveraging blockchain.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>He also pointed to its strength in <a href=\"https:\/\/coingeek.com\/ai-to-fight-ai-the-evolving-landscape-of-cybersecurity-threats-and-scams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cybersecurity<\/a>. \u201cSecurity-wise, it\u2019s inherently secure because it\u2019s about every piece of it and all the hexadecimal encryption that\u2019s running through it. How do you get through it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And when SaaS meet blockchain? Davis said, \u201cWith software as a service related back to blockchain\u2026 when you\u2019re running a true global system, multi-user, multi-country, cross borders across the world\u2026 and you\u2019re trying to manage them as a single user base\u2026 that\u2019s where it really comes in as a handy tool.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"https:\/\/coingeek.com\/microsoft-invests-2-2-billion-to-fuel-malaysia-cloud-ai-infrastructure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Southeast Asia\u2019s cloud adoption accelerating<\/a>, the time to act is now.
