An Aussie mom has sparked a discussion about the cost of kids\u2019\u00a0haircuts\u00a0<\/a>in these crazy\u00a0cost-of-living\u00a0times.<\/p>\n

Creator @itsjustmilliee posted a clip on TikTok, wanting to know if the staggering amount she just paid<\/a> for her\u00a0toddler\u00a0son\u2019s haircut, and little girl\u2019s fringe trim, was \u201cstandard\u201d.<\/p>\n

Spoiler alert: it\u2019s not.<\/p>\n

The mom begins in her\u00a0clip<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI just got my son\u2019s hair cut and my daughter\u2019s fringe trimmed. It cost me $120 [$77.02 USD].\u201d<\/p>\n

Reasonably, she adds, \u201cI\u2019m happy to pay if that\u2019s what everyone\u2019s paying. It\u2019s not something I could do myself. I\u2019m happy to pay a professional, but I feel like that\u2019s a lot for a short back and sides and fringe trim.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs that standard?\u201d<\/p>\n

She then shares a shot of the back of her son\u2019s head, pointing out a couple of places where the cut is not exactly what she wanted.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter, it\u2019s just hair. I was just curious to know what everyone else is paying. So if you could please drop a comment, that would be appreciated.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clip was captioned: \u201cI didn\u2019t question it because compared to the price of my hair appointments I thought it was ok \u2026 then I got home and my husband told me he pays $30 [$19.25 USD] for his hair<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comments on the mom\u2019s post were generally helpful and supportive in sharing of experiences\u2026 of paying significantly less.<\/p>\n

\u201cI lost my mind when [our local] wanted $32 [$20.54 USD] each for 2 girls \u201ctrims\u201d (they are 4 and 2 for reference).\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c$20 [$12.84 USD] at the barber for my 10yr old. $25 [$16.04 USD] at the hairdresser for my daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n

For comparison\u2019s sake, I pay $45 [$28.88 USD] at a barber for my 18 year old son, and $50 [$32.09 USD] at an amazing hairdresser for myself in Chinatown.<\/p>\n

There was also one comment on the post that unkindly read, \u201cHairdressers are living in fantasy land. It\u2019s not rocket science.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Finally, this viewer made a practical suggestion:<\/p>\n

\u201c$35 [$22.46 USD] in Mudgee. He has similar hair length to your son\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t even pay $120 [$77.02 USD] to get my hair cut. I would be going back and questioning it. Maybe they charged you the wrong price by accident??\u201d<\/p>\n
