Will Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs spend the rest of his days rotting away in prison?<\/p>\n

He\u2019s accused of racketeering and sex trafficking<\/a> \u2014 and it\u2019s unclear this early in the trial if the government has the goods to convince the jury he\u2019s guilty of those specific charges.<\/p>\n

But what has emerged is that Combs is undeniably a monster \u2014 a sadistic soul who laundered his darkness through his work-hard-play-hard, modern-day Rat Pack persona.<\/p>\n

Too bad they can\u2019t put him away for that.<\/p>\n

This week in court, testimony from former girlfriend Cassie Ventura exposed the depths of his depravity that bubbled just under the surface of his carefully curated image.<\/p>\n

Eight months pregnant, Ventura was violated all over again, this time in front of the world. She was forced to relive her lowest days including pill popping, degrading sex acts, and a decade\u2019s worth of beatings at Combs\u2019 hands.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, she testified about the so-called \u201cfreak-offs<\/a>\u201d \u2014 a term that now rolls off the tongue of federal prosecutors (and everyone else) \u2014 and the drugs she took to disassociate<\/a> from the experience.<\/p>\n

As I watched her calmly answer the most invasive and gut-wrenching questions, I had to imagine she was once again disassociating from this very public nightmare.<\/p>\n

Her emotional crack came late in the day as she recalled wanting to kill herself before entering rehab in early 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t take the pain anymore. I tried to walk out the front door into traffic,\u201d said the mother of two.<\/p>\n

But her now-husband, Alex Fine \u2014 who had been present all morning before leaving the courtroom sometime after lunch \u2014 saved her that day, she said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Combs\u2019 lawyers allege that he\u2019s simply a sexual libertine. A swinger<\/a> satisfying his foul sexual appetite with other consensual adults. No harm done. They\u2019re trying to say that Ventura liked it so much, she even facilitated it at times.<\/p>\n

Ventura, like many domestic abuse victims, said she tried to keep Combs happy and went along to avoid angering him. She regularly recalled his eyes turning black when he was mad.<\/p>\n

And he dished out violence that she described as \u201cfrequent.\u201d He \u201cpunched, kicked, dragged\u201d her so viciously, she compared him to infamous wife-beater Ike Turner.<\/p>\n

During their 11-year relationship, the couple regularly appeared on red carpets in glamorous designer duds.<\/p>\n

However, in the courtroom, we saw a different kind of visual history of their time together. The prosecution showed the jury photos of Ventura with bruises on her back and legs, fat lips, a gash, her eyebrow and black eyes half-hidden behind sunglasses.<\/p>\n

Ventura testified about a fight in Cannes, France, when he kicked her off his yacht, leaving her with no shoes. During their flight back, he intimidated her by playing incriminating videos of her performing in the \u201cfreak-offs.\u201d It was a threat.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt trapped,\u201d she said, knowing he had \u201cleverage\u201d via those videos.<\/p>\n

During a trip to Jamaica, she recalled hiding behind a tractor with her former best friend Kerry Morgan. From whom was she hiding? \u201cSean,\u201d she answered. Ventura said he gave her a black eye on that trip.<\/p>\n

Back in Los Angeles, she recalled Combs regularly bursting into her apartment, including on August 5, 2013, when she was meant to be packing for Drake\u2019s music festival in Toronto but she had fallen asleep. She said he threw her onto the bed frame, leaving a nasty gash in her eyebrow. Combs had his security take her to a plastic surgeon to stitch it up.<\/p>\n

She said she still has that scar \u2014 likely one of many.<\/p>\n

Then there was the 2015 Vegas trip where, she said, he punched her and kicked her as she tried to hide behind a toilet. Combs\u2019 security guard stopped it and sent her to his Los Angeles home to recover.<\/p>\n

The prosecutors showed an email from the employee telling her it was time to \u201cice ur face.\u201d<\/p>\n

She recalled the first alleged beating<\/a>, in Los Angeles in 2007, when he was \u201cstomping on my face with his foot.\u201d He made her stay at the London Hotel to heal, despite her pleas to leave.<\/p>\n

As she laid bare the horrific abuse, a gray-haired Combs, in a dad sweater that evoked less Mr. Rogers and more Bill Cosby, stared straight ahead.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, his lawyers grilled Ventura on cross-examination, showing loving texts sent between them and questioning her drug use. They also asked about her about the bombshell $20 million settlement <\/a>she received from him after filing a civil suit, which first revealed his vile treatment of her.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen your lawsuit was published in November 2023, you understand his career was ruined, right?\u201d she was asked by the defense.<\/p>\n

She did understand. But cry me a river, Team Diddy.<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll be lucky if that\u2019s the least of his punishment.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
