Ogilvie Construction has secured a \u00a345.2m contract to deliver a major social housing development in Aberdeen.<\/p>\n

Stirling-based Ogilvie was appointed last month through a restricted procurement process and will act as principal contractor on the two-year Kincorth New Build Housing Project, due to begin in the third quarter of 2024.<\/p>\n

The scheme will deliver around 195 homes for social rent, according to a contract notice this morning (30 May) from Aberdeen City Council.<\/p>\n

The homes will comprise a mix of houses and flatted units, along with new streets, parking areas and green spaces.<\/p>\n

All buildings must comply with the Gold Technical Standard and statutory regulations, as well as Aberdeen City Council\u2019s high-level design requirements.<\/p>\n

Ogilvie will also assume responsibility for any works already carried out on the site, the council said.<\/p>\n

It intends to novate the design team to Ogilvie, under the terms of an SBCC Design and Build contract (2016 edition) set at a fixed lump sum.<\/p>\n

Further contract details are expected to be confirmed during the invitation to tender stage.<\/p>\n

The project forms part of the council\u2019s wider social housing programme, which aims to improve the quality and sustainability of the city\u2019s rental stock.<\/p>\n

Three tenders were received for the job, including bids from three non-EU contractors, all submitted electronically.<\/p>\n
