I mean, there\u2019re literally countless ways in which you can do this,\u201d Hines <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/nBm2S2PU1gs?si=NsXAVFJExTjR71no\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow noreferrer\">said<\/a>. \u201cEverything\u2019s on the table.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The executive director of the Presidential Council of Advisers for Digital Assets, also known as the Crypto Council, reiterated that the administration wants to <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptobriefing.com\/trump-bitcoin-acquisition-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\">buy as much Bitcoin as possible<\/a> without affecting taxpayers.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe obviously have made it very clear that we want to acquire as much as we can get,\u201d Hines said. \u201cIt stipulates that we have to acquire Bitcoin in budget-neutral ways that don\u2019t cost a taxpayer a dime.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hines also likened Bitcoin to gold and firmly stated that the government plans to hold, not sell, its Bitcoin reserves.<\/p>\n<p>The administration\u2019s efforts include collaboration between Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and other officials within the inter-agency working group to develop Bitcoin acquisition strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Hines has repeatedly praised Senator Cynthia Lummis\u2019 Boosting Innovation, Technology, and Competitiveness through Optimized Investment Nationwide (BITCOIN) Act of 2025, which proposes the establishment of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve for the US through Congress.<\/p>\n<p>The act proposes using proceeds from the revaluation of the Fed\u2019s gold certificates as a dedicated funding source exclusively for purchasing Bitcoin. He said that the current system is riddled with inefficiencies and ripe for disruption.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe look at our banking system and there\u2019s so much friction there,\u201d he stated, pointing to everyday issues like transfer delays and hidden fees as signs that the legacy system no longer serves the needs of modern users.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLook at our current payment rails, look at our systems that allow us to move money to one another. There are fees, there\u2019s a lack of transparency. There\u2019s a time process that\u2019s obviously too long with the technology that currently exists,\u201d Hines added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Hines, blockchain and the emerging technologies in the digital asset space will provide the fix.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cBlockchain technology and some of these technologies that are emerging out of the digital asset space will help revolutionize that system.
