As Nigeria gets ready for the 2027 general elections<\/a>, many politicians, especially those from opposition parties, are joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).\u00a0<\/p>\n

This change is strengthening the APC, making it more powerful for future elections.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, some people are worried about this trend and suggest changes to stop politicians from switching parties so easily.<\/p>\n

Here are some of the politicians who have joined the APC:<\/p>\n

Valentine Ozigbo\u00a0<\/h2>\n

A former governorship aspirant from the Labour Party (LP) in Anambra, Ozigbo joined the APC to participate in the governorship election in his state.<\/p>\n

Garba Koko\u00a0<\/h2>\n

A member of the House of Representatives from Kebbi State, previously with the PDP, he switched to the APC citing prolonged crises within the PDP.<\/p>\n

Amos Magaji\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Representing Zangon Kataf\/Jaba Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, he left the PDP for the APC due to unresolved internal conflicts.<\/p>\n

Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Daughter of former Delta State Governor James Ibori and formerly elected under the PDP, she defected to the APC along with other lawmakers from various parties.<\/p>\n

Esosa Iyawe, Tochukwu Okere, Donatus Matthew, Bassey Akiba<\/h2>\n

These members of the House of Representatives<\/a>, previously elected on the LP platform, all moved to the APC, citing divisions within their parties.<\/p>\n

Dalyop Chollom <\/h2>\n

Another LP member of the House of Representatives, he switched to the APC reflecting on the crisis in his party.<\/p>\n

Ajang Iliya\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Representing Jos South\/Jos East Federal Constituency in Plateau State, he left the LP for the APC.<\/p>\n

Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, Senator Shehu Sani, Former Governor Ramalan Yero, Senator Danjuma La\u2019ah, and other political figures from Kaduna also joined the APC, influenced by the unifying approach of Governor Uba Sani.<\/p>\n

Olajide Adediran (Jandor)\u00a0<\/h2>\n

The 2023 governorship candidate for the PDP in Lagos, he returned to the APC along with his Lagos4Lagos Movement, citing a commitment to the development of Lagos.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
