Taylor Jenkins Reid<\/strong> has been slaying the historical fiction world for years \u2014 but she\u2019s also making a pretty successful foray into the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve felt for a really long time that I have a lot of ambition,\u201d the author told Vanity Fair<\/em><\/a> in August 2022. \u201cAnd I felt like I needed to hide it. And then I felt like, \u2018Well, it\u2019s OK to say it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Reid\u2019s ambition has paid off in a big way with eight novels \u2014 and a ninth coming in June 2025 \u2014 under her belt and several TV and film adaptations. One of which is coming to Netflix with Serena Williams set to produce. Yes, the 2022 bestseller Carrie Soto Is Back will be getting her flowers, and making a comeback, onscreen.<\/p>\n

\u201cI never take for granted what is happening for my books now, because I learned how this industry works at a much smaller pace, and \u2014 I don\u2019t know \u2014 I think if my first book was a massive hit, I don\u2019t know if I\u2019ve had that perspective,\u201d Reid told BuzzFeed News in April 2023 about her continued success. \u201cAnd I love that perspective.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> announced in June 2021 that Reid\u2019s novel, released in May of that same year, would be adapted at Hulu. The show appears to still be in development with Liz Tigelaar<\/strong>, who executive produced Little Fires Everywhere<\/em> for the streamer, set to executive produce.<\/p>\n
\u2018Carrie Soto Is Back\u2019<\/h3>\nIn April 2025, it was announced that Williams would be producing Reid\u2019s novel about fictional tennis legend Carrie Soto at Netflix. Deadline<\/a> was first to report the news at the time, but other details about the project have yet to be announced.<\/p>\n
