EF noted that boosting the security will give individuals, governments, and institutions the confidence to store over $1 trillion in the blockchain\u2019s smart contracts, indicating the foundation\u2019s intention to fight off competition from upcoming blockchains like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/crypto-essentials-solana\"><span>Solana<\/span><\/a><span> and Sui.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>Mapping, Executing, and Communicating<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>In an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ethereum.org\/2025\/05\/14\/trillion-dollar-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>announcement<\/span><\/a><span>, the foundation said the initiative revolves around mapping, executing, and communicating. The mapping component involves investigating Ethereum\u2019s security \u201cstrengths and attack vectors across every domain.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">3. The 1TS initiative has 3 parts:<br \/>\n\u2013 Mapping security strengths and attack vectors, producing a security overview report<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Executing on the highest priority issues discovered through our research<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Communicating effectively about Ethereum\u2019s security properties to the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ethereum Foundation (@ethereumfndn) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ethereumfndn\/status\/1922632707110023499?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 14, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Mapping will focus on things like the user interface, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/why-is-storing-bitcoin-so-important-and-how-to-do-it\"><span>wallet<\/span><\/a><span> security, smart contract security, infrastructure, internet infrastructure, consensus, and protocol security, among others. The execution part will dive into working on the weaknesses identified during the mapping stage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The communication component involves educating Ethereum users on how to use the improved security to their advantage. EF said Ethereum\u2019s security standards should be open to allow users to compare them \u201cagainst other blockchains and legacy systems.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>Ethereum Ecosystem Players To Guide the Project<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>EF\u2019s Josh Stark and Fredrik Svantes will lead the project while other ecosystem players like Security Alliance founder samczsun, Sigma Prime co-founder Mehdi Zerouali, and Etherealize co-founder Zach Obront will \u201cguide the project and provide input and advice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Trillion Dollar Security initiative comes three weeks after the Ethereum Foundation <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fullycrypto.com\/ethereum-foundation-to-address-layer-1-scaling-challenges\"><span>disclosed<\/span><\/a><span> that it\u2019s working to address layer 1 scaling challenges.
