{"id":846704,"date":"2025-05-08T09:11:31","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T14:11:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/05\/08\/carbon-capture-contract-powers-united-living-to-top-league-spot\/"},"modified":"2025-05-08T09:11:31","modified_gmt":"2025-05-08T14:11:31","slug":"carbon-capture-contract-powers-united-living-to-top-league-spot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/05\/08\/carbon-capture-contract-powers-united-living-to-top-league-spot\/","title":{"rendered":"Carbon capture contract powers United Living to top league spot"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wrapper_sleeve\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"414\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.ca.emap.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2025\/04\/United-Living-HyNet-CO2-Eni-Pipeline-Project-image_1024x683_144dpi.webp\"   alt=\"United-Living-HyNet-CO2-Eni-Pipeline-Project-image_1024x683_144dpi.webp\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A major carbon capture pipeline job saw utilities and property services contractor United Living top the latest <em>Construction News<\/em> monthly league table.<\/p>\n<p>Data from Glenigan showed that the \u00a3627m-turnover firm picked up a \u00a3250m contract from \u00a0Liverpool Bay CCS Ltd, a subsidiary of global energy firm Eni, to help deliver carbon dioxide transportation and storage infrastructure as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contracts\/united-living-to-deliver-250m-carbon-capture-pipeline-30-04-2025\/\">HyNet North West decarbonisation scheme.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This was only the second time that United Living led the monthly table, with it last hitting the top in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contracts\/construction-league-tables\/resi-specialist-nets-first-league-table-win-07-02-2024\/\">February last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/skanska\/\">Skanska<\/a> took the silver medal in April with a pair of civils jobs worth a combined \u00a3193.3m. These included a share of a \u00a3400m contract from Anglian Water for a waste treatment plant in Cambridge alongside Mott MacDonald and MWH, according to Glenigan.<\/p>\n<p>That job saw Mott MacDonald and MWH enter the table in equal fourth place at \u00a3133.3m each.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in April\u2019s top 10, the Glenigan data revealed McLaren in third spot with \u00a3173.1m of work from four jobs, including a \u00a3120m contract to refit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/buildings\/green-light-for-120m-barkers-of-kensington-overhaul-06-01-2023\/\">Grade II-listed Barkers of Kensington building in west London<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Fifth-placed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/wates\/\">Wates<\/a> won three jobs with a combined value of \u00a3114.6m \u2013 mainly due to a \u00a3110.6m deal to repair <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/government\/wates-handed-111m-parliament-job-after-tender-fails-again-07-04-2025\/\">Parliament\u2019s crumbling Victoria Tower<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bowmer &#038; Kirkland finished sixth in April\u2019s table with four contracts worth a total of \u00a3112.2m.
