But what storytellers need the most are story listeners. And the larger your group of story listeners, the more successful a storyteller you become.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe star-studded event featured Shefali Shah (Emmy winner \u201cDelhi Crime\u201d), who admitted her process remains driven by fear and authenticity: \u201cIf it doesn\u2019t strike a chord with me, I know it won\u2019t connect with anyone on the other side of the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/aditi-rao-hydari\/\" id=\"auto-tag_aditi-rao-hydari\" data-tag=\"aditi-rao-hydari\">Aditi Rao Hydari<\/a> reflected on her \u201cHeeramandi\u201d character\u2019s international recognition, recounting being recognized as \u201cBibbojaan\u201d while traveling through Cannes, Italy, and London. \u201cThat\u2019s the power of a story well told \u2013 it travels, connects, and stays with people,\u201d the actor said.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRising star Kapoor shared his experience with unconventional storytelling: \u201cWhen we were making \u2018Black Warrant,\u2019 we knew it wasn\u2019t the most obvious or glamorous story \u2013 it\u2019s set in Tihar Jail in the \u201980s, told from a jailer\u2019s point of view. But from the first screening, Netflix just got it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tA second panel featuring Netflix\u2019s series head Tanya Bami, director of original Films Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, and acclaimed producers including Guneet Monga Kapoor (Oscar-winning Netflix film \u201cThe Elephant Whisperers\u201d) and Siddharth Roy Kapur (Netfllix series \u201cAranyak,\u201d Netflix film \u201cYeh Ballet\u201d), focused on reinventing storytelling for a digital-first audience.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cGreat storytelling is our only playbook. It\u2019s not formulas or trends that make a story successful,\u201d said Bami, while Kapoor Sheikh added, \u201cAt the heart of every film is a feeling \u2013 it\u2019s the memory you carry after the credits roll.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFilmmaker Michael Lehmann (\u201cDexter: Original Sin\u201d) said that despite technological changes, human connection remains paramount: \u201cIn the digital age, audiences can access the entire history of cinema at their fingertips \u2013 yet what still matters most is spending time with real people on screen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMonga Kapoor championed authenticity, particularly in documentaries: \u201cFor me, storytelling is deeply personal \u2013 if it moves me, it can move the world. Documentaries are the purest expression of that truth: real people, real stakes, no scripts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRoy Kapur expressed optimism about Indian content\u2019s global potential, while Annapurna Studios CEO Supriya Yarlagadda highlighted evolution in India\u2019s powerful southern industries: \u201cIn the South, we\u2019ve always aspired for cinema \u2013 but the digital era has opened a new frontier.
