Days after kicking off<\/a> her \u2018Cowboy Carter\u2019 tour, Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong> received a cease-and-desist letter from Sphere<\/strong> owner James L. Dolan<\/strong>. He\u2019s made some strong accusations against the singer for allegedly using the arena\u2019s likeness in her shows. Dolan, the executive chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment, sent a legal letter to Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s Parkwood Entertainment on May 1, 2025.<\/p>\n

According to the New York Post<\/a>, Dolan demanded that she remove a tour interlude video featuring the iconic Las Vegas venue. The concert footage, which has been circulating on social media since the start of the tour, shows a giant version of Beyonc\u00e9 picking up the Sphere and looming over it. She then picks it up and drops a slight smile before the scene cuts to another shot.<\/p>\n

The problem is, Sphere says Bey didn\u2019t get permission before including the video in her tour, calling it \u201cunauthorized use of intellectual property.\u201d The clip is part of the footage fans watch at her shows, but Dolan\u2019s team isn\u2019t playing, insisting it\u2019s their property and Bey\u2019s gotta cut it. If she refuses to cooperate with their request, the company \u201creserves all rights to take further action as SEG deems appropriate without notice.\u201d<\/p>\n
