Character actor Bruce Glover, who portrayed the gay assassin Mr. Wint alongside jazz musician Putter Smith\u2019s Mr. Kidd in Sean Connery\u2019s final official James Bond film \u201cDiamonds Are Forever,\u201d has died. He was 92.<\/p>\n

Glover\u2019s son, \u201cBack to the Future\u201d and \u201cWillard\u201d actor Crispin Glover, revealed the news on Instagram. A cause of death wasn\u2019t immediately available.<\/p>\n

A Chicago native, Glover was known for some eccentric performances including as Deputy Grady Coker in 1973\u2019s \u201cWalking Tall\u201d and its sequels, as a redneck thug in Stanley Kramer\u2019s \u201cBless the Beasts and Children,\u201d an associate of Jack Nicholson\u2019s character in Polanski\u2019s \u201cChinatown,\u201d a debt collector in Walter Hill\u2019s \u201cHard Times,\u201d and the wheelchaired Feldman in Terry Zwigoff\u2019s \u201cGhost World\u201d.<\/p>\n

Other films included the original \u201cThe Thomas Crown Affair ,\u201d \u201cNight of the Scarecrow,\u201d \u201cWarlock: The Armageddon ,\u201d \u201cWho Killed Teddy Bear?,\u201d \u201cBlack Gunn,\u201d \u201cCC and Company\u201d and \u201cThe Big Score\u201d.<\/p>\n

He also routinely showed up on TV shows of the 1960s and 1980s including \u201cPerry Mason,\u201d \u201cMy Favorite Martian,\u201d \u201cCHiPs,\u201d Mod Squad,\u201d \u201cMurder She Wrote,\u201d \u201cHart to Hart,\u201d \u201cT.J. Hooker\u201d and more.<\/p>\n

On the Bond film, Mr. Wint and Mr. Kidd knock off several targets but three attempts on the life of Connery\u2019s Bond end with the pair being killed.<\/p>\n

Glover\u2019s Mr. Wint has one of the most ludicrous deaths of the entire franchise when Connery straps a bomb between his legs, restrains him in a way that leads to the character uttering a \u201cwoooo\u201d in pleasure, and then gets thrown off a cruise ship \u2013 executing an Olympic diver style flip before exploding just above the water line. <\/p>\n

Glover famously never went to acting school or took an acting class, but successfully taught acting throughout his career. He also performed in hundreds of plays, appearing on Broadway with Bette Davis in \u201cThe Night of the Iguana\u201d.<\/p>\n

His wife of 56 years, Betty, was a ballet dancer who performed in \u201cOklahoma!\u201d on Broadway. She died in 2016.<\/p>\n
