Eric Trump, one of the president\u2019s sons and vice president of the Trump Organization, posted an Instagram story Thursday morning wearing the hat and linking to the website.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Trump, who is serving his second term as president, has not ruled out<\/a> the possibility of running for a third term, saying \u201cthere are methods\u201d that can make it possible, despite the Constitution saying no one can serve more than two terms as president.<\/p>\n

The White House referred Forbes to the Trump Organization when asked to comment, and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 22nd Amendment<\/a> of the Constitution says: \u201cNo person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.\u201d<\/p>\n

What Has Trump Said About A Third Term?<\/h2>\n

On March 30, Trump told NBC News, \u201cI\u2019m not joking. I\u2019m not joking,\u201d though he added: \u201cIt is far too early to think about it.\u201d In the same interview, he said, \u201cA lot of people want me to do it \u2026 But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it\u2019s very early in the administration.\u201d The following day, Trump said he would \u201clove\u201d to run against former President Barack Obama\u2014who also served two terms and cannot run for a third term\u2014adding: \u201cThat would be a good one, I\u2019d like that.\u201d He quickly added he has \u201cnever looked into\u201d whether he could run again, and said, \u201cthey do say there\u2019s a way you can do it, but I don\u2019t know about that \u2026 I want to do a fantastic job, we have four years, just about.\u201d Months earlier, after he won reelection, Trump told<\/a> House Republicans: \u201cI suspect I won\u2019t be running again unless you say, \u2018He\u2019s so good we\u2019ve got to figure something else out.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

What Have Trump\u2019s Allies Said About Him Running Again?<\/h2>\n

Steve Bannon, a key adviser from Trump\u2019s first term, has said<\/a> in an interview on NewsNation he believes Trump will run again in the next election and suggested the Constitution may offer some possible loopholes, particularly around what constitutes a presidential term. When asked in her confirmation hearings whether Trump could run again, Attorney General Pam Bondi said, \u201cNo, senator, not unless they change the Constitution\u201d\u2014though more recently she told Fox News she believes Trump will \u201cbe finished probably after this term,\u201d and that if he wanted to run again they would \u201chave to look at the Constitution,\u201d which she described as \u201ca heavy lift.\u201d At least one House Republican has expressed support for Trump to run again and introduced<\/a> a House Joint Resolution to amend the Constitution so he could run for a third term.<\/p>\n
