{"id":840571,"date":"2025-04-11T16:12:54","date_gmt":"2025-04-11T21:12:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/11\/police-charge-driver-over-fatal-crash\/"},"modified":"2025-04-11T16:12:54","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T21:12:54","slug":"police-charge-driver-over-fatal-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/11\/police-charge-driver-over-fatal-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Charge Driver Over Fatal Crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<section itemprop=\"articleBody\">\n<p>A man will face court charged over a fatal crash in state&#8217;s north last year.<\/p>\n<p>About 2pm on Monday 2 December 2024, emergency services were called to New England Highway, Murulla, about 25km north of Scone, following reports a truck and an SUV had collided.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the SUV \u2013 a 53-year-old man \u2013 died before emergency services arrived at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>A passenger of the vehicle \u2013 a 55-year-old man \u2013 was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.<\/p>\n<p>The truck driver \u2013 a 45-year-old man &#8211; was taken to the same hospital in a serious but stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>A crime scene was established and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Following extensive inquiries, yesterday (Sunday 23 March 2025), the 45-year-old man was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death-drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasioning death), not keep left of dividing line \u2013 class B\/C vehicle, cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle, and negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm).<\/p>\n<p>He was issued a court attendance notice to appear at Muswellbrook Local Court on Friday 2 May 2025.<\/p>\n<p><ins data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4000288052572090\" data-ad-slot=\"3908435902\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><\/p>\n<p>\n    \/Public Release.
