A pedestrian was taken to hospital after sustaining serious injuries in a car crash in Geylang on Monday (March 10).<\/p>\n

The accident took place along 340 Geylang Road towards Kallang Road.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to Shin Min Daily News, the car crashed into the man, the impact throwing\u00a0him about two metres away.<\/p>\n

The man was later seen lying on the ground, with his face covered in blood, Shin Min reported.\u00a0He also suffered a wound on his thigh.<\/p>\n

A video of the incident\u00a0posted on Facebook\u00a0shows a white Mazda with a crushed bonnet.<\/p>\n

Paramedics can be\u00a0seen attending to the injured pedestrian as a crowd gathered around the scene.<\/p>\n

The male driver, whose car\u00a0mounted the curb before crashing into the victim, appears to be in a\u00a0daze\u00a0following the accident.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In response to AsiaOne’s queries, the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force\u00a0said that they were alerted to the accident at about 10.10 am on Monday.<\/p>\n

A 48-year-old male driver and a 44-year-old male pedestrian were both conscious when conveyed to hospital.\u00a0One was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the other was taken to Raffles Hospital.<\/p>\n

Prior to\u00a0the accident, the car had\u00a0hit two motorcycles on the main road near Geylang Lorong 23,\u00a0reported Shin Min.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n
