\n\t\u201cBilly Joel<\/a>: And So It Goes,\u201d an HBO original two-part documentary, will be the opening night film of the 2025 Tribeca Festival<\/a>. Tribeca Festival CEO and co-Founder Jane Rosenthal announced the opening night programming on stage at the NAB Show\u2019s Business Show of Entertainment event.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cFor nearly 25 years, the Tribeca Festival has celebrated the artists who give New York its heart and soul,\u201d Rosenthal said. \u201cOn the opening night of the 2025 Festival, we are thrilled to honor Billy Joel \u2014 an artist who has embodied that very spirit. Paying tribute to the legendary performer who captured the essence of a \u2018New York State of Mind\u2019 is a perfect way to kick off this year\u2019s celebration of creativity and inspiration.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThis year\u2019s Tribeca Festival will run June 4 through 15 in New York City, featuring a lineup of films, music, TV, audio storytelling, live talks, games and immersive programming. \u201cBilly Joel: And So It Goes<\/a>,\u201d which will open the festival on Wednesday June 4, is described as an \u201cexpansive portrait of the life and music of Billy Joel, exploring the love, loss, and personal struggles that fuel his songwriting,\u201d according to a press release.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cWith unprecedented access to never-before-seen performances, home movies, and personal photographs, along with extensive, in-depth one-on-one interviews, the documentary intimately explores the life and work of Joel, whose music has endured across generations,\u201d the description continues.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cBilly Joel: And So It Goes\u201d is co-directed and produced by Jessica Levin and Susan Lacy.\u00a0 \u201c[Jessica and I] couldn\u2019t be more thrilled about our film \u201cBilly Joel: And So It Goes\u201d opening the esteemed Tribeca Festival.
