Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved a two-year tax waiver for traders affected by the September 2024 flood disaster, as well as those in Maiduguri Monday Market.<\/p>\n

Zulum granted the waiver to ease the financial burden on traders and encourage business growth.<\/p>\n

The Chairman of the Borno State Internal Revenue Service, BO-IRS, Professor Ibrahim Bello Alhaji, who recently announced the decision, stated that the waiver is part of Zulum\u2019s tax administration reforms, which prioritise ease of doing business in the state.<\/p>\n

He also noted that Borno State now ranks 12th nationally in terms of improved and digitised tax programmes.<\/p>\n

The BO-IRS chairman highlighted ongoing projects in Jiddari, Umarari, GRA, Bulumkutu, Custom, Chad Basin, and several other locations, emphasising that all parts of the state benefit from tax-generated funds.<\/p>\n
