Jaydon Blue is an explosive RB. We know Nick Sirianni puts a high value on explosive plays. Blue is a good receiver as well as a dangerous runner. You can think of him as a potential upgrade on Kenny Gainwell. He did return three kickoffs in college so he\u2019s got potential in that area as well. The Eagles have an elite runner in Saquon Barkley, but AJ Dillon isn\u2019t a sure thing and Will Shipley isn\u2019t special athletically. Blue would be an interesting addition. He would add real juice to the backup RB group.<\/p>\n
The Eagles Pep Band, which has been with the team for 28 seasons, is being \u201clet go,\u201d a member of the group told CBS News Philadelphia on Wednesday. A team source confirmed the news. An Eagles team source said that the on-field entertainment is \u201cevolving.\u201d The team thanked the Pep Band for their years of service with the organization. The Eagles didn\u2019t provide any specifics in their plans for on-field entertainment heading into the 2025 season. At every Birds home game for the last 28 seasons, whether at Lincoln Financial Field or Veterans Stadium, the band has led thousands of fans in singing the Eagles\u2019 fight song, \u201cFly Eagles Fly\u201d \u2014 a tradition before kickoff and after each Eagles touchdown. <\/p>\n
The New England Patriots have matched the free agent offer sheet to linebacker Christian Elliss, according to multiple reports. A restricted free agent this offseason, Elliss was tendered by the Patriots before making it to the open market. Elliss was granted to the right to negotaute with other clubs with New England retaining right of first refusal. Following the linebackers visit with the Las Vegas Raiders, Elliss signed a tender on a deal reportedly carrying a $4.842 million salary cap charge for the 2025 season. New England, whose original tender was worth $3.263 million, has now matched the deal that carries a two-year duration. [BLG Note: Former Eagles LB is staying with the Pats.]<\/p>\n

Signing Miles Sanders. Just a few days after the Cowboys signed RB Javonte Williams, they added another veteran in Sanders. While Williams presents some intrigue as part of the backfield rotation, the older Sanders feels like an odd move and unlikely to even make the roster. Certainly, Dallas was still expected to pursue another RB after signing Williams. But that meant a true starter to replace Rico Dowdle, who coincidentally signed with Sanders\u2019 former team in Carolina. Turning 28 this May and having had little impact in two years with the Panthers, Sanders is hardly a guy who walks in with starting expectations. This feels reminiscent of when Dallas signed veteran Royce Freeman last year. It made a little more sense before they reunited with Ezekiel Elliott two weeks later, but once Zeke returned Freeman was reduced to little more than a camp body. That proved true when he was released in late August. Assuming the Cowboys come out of the draft with a significant RB addition, Sanders\u2019 only perceived shot at making the team will be due to injuries.<\/p>\n
NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah is, to say the least, not enthused by the New York Giants signing of quarterback Russell Wilson. During an appearance on the \u2018The Rich Eisen Show\u2019, Jeremiah said the Giants still have the \u201cfourth-best\u201d starting quarterback in the NFC East. In terms of whether they have upgraded from Daniel Jones, he said the Giants have gone from \u201cvanilla to French vanilla.\u201d Jeremiah believes the signings of Wilson and Jameis Winston don\u2019t preclude the Giants from selecting Shedeur Sanders of Colorado at No. 3.<\/p>\n
It feels like there were no HUGE splashes in free agency, but it also feels like just about every team made at least some mild waves or movements in the overall pool of water. While that is true there were\/are some teams who seem more content to sit on the wall and chill while everyone else was dancing… or tried to dance and looked awkward in the process. I feel like the Indianapolis Colts are somewhere in the middle of those two analogies as they are one of the most boring teams in the league right now to me. Consider that the big, franchise-changing thing that Indy did this offseason was sign Daniel Jones. It is not hard for us football fans to get excited about controversy at the quarterback position, but are you enthralled by the idea of Daniel Jones duking it out with Anthony Richardson? Yawn. The Colts have been wayward for a while now and don\u2019t seem to even know where to begin on how to get out. It is tough. <\/p>\n
