other.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The US president accused Mr Zelensky of \u201cgambling with World War Three\u201d and his deputy said the Ukrainian leader was being \u201cdisrespectful\u201d, claiming he had not been thankful for US military aid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Plans for the two countries to sign a Ukrainian minerals deal in exchange for continued US support were also put on hold as Mr Zelensky abruptly left the White House.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The Sun<\/strong> labels Mr Zelensky a \u201cglobal hero\u201d who \u201cled his wronged country\u2019s brave defence against a tyrant\u2019s war machine\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cHis ambush by Donald Trump and his vice-president as the world watched was a shocking spectacle,\u201d the newspaper writes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cZelensky flew to Washington hoping to secure Ukraine\u2019s future, only to be degraded and sent home with no minerals deal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cHis courage and leadership have earned him far more respect than the undeserved humiliation he received on live TV.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Sentiments are echoed by the <strong>Daily Mirror<\/strong>, which also describes the interaction as an \u201cambush\u201d and Mr Trump as a \u201cbully\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cOne is leading his country\u2019s fight for survival,\u201d the editorial says.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThe other prefers to showboat in front of TV cameras as if he is on The Apprentice.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>But Mr Trump\u2019s deputy does not escape unscathed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The<\/strong> <strong>Independent<\/strong> claims Mr Vance was in \u201cperformative propaganda mode\u201d, labelling the conflict \u201cone of the most shameful episodes in the history of American diplomacy\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>And the <strong>Daily Telegraph<\/strong> writes the White House leadership was in the wrong \u201cfactually, geopolitically and morally\u201d, labelling Mr Trump\u2019s outburst \u201cunprecedented\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-read-more-type=\"internal\" non-starter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cBritain and its Nato allies in Europe simply lack the means by themselves to deter Russian forces.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Similarly, the <strong>Daily Express<\/strong> calls the \u201cfractious meeting\u201d a \u201csharp reminder of the gravity of the \u00a0Ukraine crisis\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThe last thing the world <strong>The Guardian<\/strong> reports Sunday\u2019s defence summit of European leaders in London is \u201cmore crucial than ever\u201d after Mr Trump\u2019s \u201cblistering\u201d attack on Ukraine\u2019s leader.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThe extent of their erstwhile ally\u2019s betrayal is now undeniable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cKyiv is the first but not the only victim.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThe extent to which European countries are able to formulate a plan for acting accordingly, and in unison, will be critical to Ukraine\u2019s future, and to the
