{"id":836945,"date":"2025-03-26T15:13:27","date_gmt":"2025-03-26T20:13:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/26\/fcta-shuts-down-clinic-for-operating-illegally-in-kuje\/"},"modified":"2025-03-26T15:13:27","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T20:13:27","slug":"fcta-shuts-down-clinic-for-operating-illegally-in-kuje","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/26\/fcta-shuts-down-clinic-for-operating-illegally-in-kuje\/","title":{"rendered":"FCTA shuts down clinic for operating illegally in Kuje"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has closed down an unregistered medical facility, Dada\u2019s Clinic and Maternity Ltd, located in Kapwa, Gaube Community in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.<\/p>\n<p>The closure was carried out on Sunday by the Private Health Establishments Registration and Monitoring Committee (PHERMC), following an investigation into the facility\u2019s illegal activities.<\/p>\n<p>Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on public communications and social media to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, announced the shutdown in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Olayinka disclosed that the clinic was operating on a rented property along the main road leading to the community.<\/p>\n<p>He said that one Mr Sabiu, who introduced himself as the health worker managing the facility, was detained and handed over to the police for further investigation.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the team was led by the Director, Medical and Diagnostics Department, acting on the directives of the Mandate Secretary, Health and Environment Secretariat, Adedolapo Fasawe.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Olayinka added that the visit followed allegations that the facility was operating without registration and conducting medical procedures in a rented apartment unfit for healthcare services, under the guise of a medical outreach.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><html lang=\"en\"><head><br \/>\n<meta charset=\"UTF-8\"><br \/>\n<meta name=\"viewport\" content=\"width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0\"><br \/>\n<title>Article Page with Financial Support Promotion<\/title><\/p>\n<p><\/head><br \/>\n<body><\/p>\n<div id=\"membershipOverlay\">\n<h2>Nigerians need credible journalism. The facility, an unpainted building with burglar-proof ironwork at the entrance, was in a dilapidated and unsanitary condition,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt lacked windows, doors, and basic amenities such as a reception area, nursing station, bathroom, or toilet.
