The latest figures point to good<\/span><\/strong> news for both petrol <\/strong>and diesel<\/strong> motorists in South Africa next week.<\/p>\n

For the latest fuel price news, bookmark\u00a0The South African website\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0dedicated section for free-to-read content<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

As reported by\u00a0The South African website<\/a>, vehicle owners in Mzansi saw a massive increase in the cost of both petrol and diesel earlier this month.<\/p>\n

This was due to a combination of the rand depreciating against the dollar and the price of oil continuing to rise thanks to ongoing unrest in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Below, the latest projections as received by\u00a0The South African website<\/a>\u00a0from the\u00a0Central Energy Fund (CEF), effective Thursday, 27 February<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If the market conditions were to remain consistent for the remainder of the month \u2013 an unlikely scenario with the rand\/dollar exchange rate fluctuating and the oil price ever changing \u2013 an increase of seven cents is expected for petrol 93 octane motorists and a decrease of seven cents for 95 users.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, diesel motorists would see something between an 17 and 22 cents per litre increase.<\/p>\n

Finally, illuminating paraffin is expected to drop by six cents in price.<\/p>\n

FUEL PRICE IN SOUTH AFRICA IMPACTED BY\u00a0TWO\u00a0MAIN FACTORS:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

1. The international price of petroleum products, driven mainly by oil prices<\/p>\n

2. The rand\/dollar exchange rate used in the purchase of these products<\/p>\n

At the time of publishing the brent crude oil price is\u00a0$73.42<\/strong><\/a> a barrel.<\/p>\n

At the time of publishing the rand\/dollar exchange rate is\u00a0R18.49\/$<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The final overall price changes for both petrol and diesel will be confirmed early next month with the new prices taking effect at midnight on\u00a0Tuesday, 4 March<\/strong> 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
