Nigeria international striker Sunday Adetunji<\/a> has been named the best player of the 25th round of the Kosovo Super League following his match-winning performance for Ballkani against Ferizaj, Soccernet.ng<\/a> reports<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old Super Eagles<\/a> forward was instrumental in Ballkani\u2019s 2-1 victory on Friday, scoring both goals to secure a crucial three points for his team.<\/p>\n

His display earned him the \u201cStar of the Week\u201d award, an honour jointly presented by the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) and Super League sponsors Albi Mall.<\/p>\n

The former Rivers United<\/a> and Enyimba FC<\/a> striker\u2019s impact was undeniable, as his clinical finishing helped Ballkani maintain their pursuit of league leaders Drita.<\/p>\n

After receiving the award, Adetunji, who made his Super Eagles debut against Mexico in 2021, shared his joy and acknowledged the collective effort behind the victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe knew how important this match is, especially looking at some of the last few matches. We fought hard to get here,\u201d he told FFK\u2019s official website.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, going into this game, they knew how much it meant. It was a collective effort and the way we won was incredible. Yes, it\u2019s a fantastic feeling for me, but the credit goes to my teammates because without them, it wouldn\u2019t have been possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Despite Ballkani\u2019s struggles this season, Adetunji remains optimistic.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, in this championship, I admit that we didn\u2019t play well,\u201d Adetunji added. \u201cBut we were unlucky, and this happens in football. It\u2019s not that we played badly, but sometimes luck just doesn\u2019t help you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Since joining Ballkani from Celje last July, Adetunji has been a key figure in their attack, registering ten goals and two assists in 19 league appearances.<\/p>\n

His contributions have helped the club secure second place in the Kosovo top flight with 43 points from 25 matches, though they still trail leaders Drita by 11 points.<\/p>\n
