LAFC<\/a> withstood a furious Columbus Crew<\/a> rally to reach the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup<\/a> quarterfinals Tuesday night at Lower.com Field.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

The Black & Gold escaped Columbus with a 2-1 loss<\/a> in Leg 2, allowing them to advance in the competition with a 4-2 aggregate win in their Round of 16 series.<\/p>\n

They’ll face Inter Miami CF<\/a> or Jamaica’s Cavalier FC in the quarterfinals next month.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Soccer Columbus Crew 2, LAFC 1<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

The Crew nearly pulled off a comeback for the ages but came up short, largely due to Hugo Lloris<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The legendary French goalkeeper played the hero for LAFC, making two highlight-reel saves \u2013 including an incredible goal-line stop \u2013 to deny Columbus a series-tying goal after Jacen Russell-Rowe<\/a> and Diego Rossi<\/a> struck for the hosts.<\/p>\n

Denis Bouanga<\/a>‘s clinical counterattack finish in second-half stoppage time put the final nail in the Crew’s coffin and secured qualification for LAFC.<\/p>\n
