As the largest oil producer and a leading gas powerhouse in Africa, Nigeria remains pivotal in shaping the continent\u2019s energy future.<\/p>\n<p>A key highlight of the summit is Nigeria\u2019s ongoing efforts to establish the African Energy Bank (AEB), an initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources in collaboration with the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO).<\/p>\n<p>The AEB aims to bridge Africa\u2019s energy infrastructure gaps, catalyze investments, and drive sustainable energy solutions tailored to the continent\u2019s unique needs.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Ella also emphasized Nigeria\u2019s strides in energy transition and innovation, citing the country\u2019s first-ever International Hydrogen Conference, held in November 2024.<\/p>\n<p>This milestone event, organized in partnership with the Foundation for Sustainable Social Responsibility in Emerging Africa (FOSSREA), showcased Nigeria\u2019s ambition to lead in hydrogen energy development.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Nigeria continues to leverage its natural gas resources as a transitional fuel, aligning with global decarbonization goals. Initiatives like the National Gas Expansion Program (NGEP), the Nigeria Gas Transportation Network Code, and the Decade of Gas underscore the country\u2019s commitment to boosting domestic gas utilization, reducing flaring, and fostering industrialization.<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on the previous edition, Ambassador Ella highlighted the growing impact of NIES:<\/p>\n<p>Over 5,000 participants from 45 countries representing government, industry leaders, and investors.<\/p>\n<p>4,182 square meters of exhibition space showcasing cutting-edge technologies and investment opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>More than 60 plenary sessions, workshops, and panel discussions on energy transition, decarbonization, refining, and digital transformation.<\/p>\n<p>Over $2.5 billion in investment deals and MOUs signed during the summit.<\/p>\n<p>Acknowledging the vital role of industry stakeholders, Ambassador Ella extended his appreciation to regulatory bodies such as NUPRC, NMDPRA, NCDMB, PTDF, PTI, NNRA, as well as sponsors and event organizers Brevity Anderson for ensuring the summit\u2019s success.<\/p>\n<p>As the summit unfolds, he urged participants to engage in meaningful collaborations, shape policies that align with Africa\u2019s energy ambitions, and explore innovations driving the future of energy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Federal Government of Nigeria remains unwavering in its commitment to fostering an enabling environment for investment, innovation, and sustainable development in the energy sector.
