According to Mark Gurman<\/a> from Bloomberg<\/em>, Apple will be launching a new Apple Watch SE<\/a> later this year, as well as introducing refreshes for Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3. Based on today\u2019s rumors, it\u2019s sounding like it\u2019ll be a big year for Apple Watch.<\/p>\n

New Apple Watch SE<\/h2>\n

Gurman doesn\u2019t provide many specifics for the new Apple Watch SE<\/a>, other than the fact that it\u2019ll \u2018sport a new look\u2019.<\/p>\n

Apple introduced Apple Watch SE<\/a> in 2020, based on the design of 2018\u2019s Apple Watch Series 4. It\u2019s possible that we\u2019ll be getting a design that more closely resembles 2021\u2019s Apple Watch Series 7 \u2013 or maybe it\u2019ll be something new entirely.<\/p>\n

In the past, Mark Gurman has reported that Apple is considering a plastic body<\/a> for Apple Watch SE<\/a>, so it\u2019s possible he\u2019s referring to that. In any case, if you\u2019re in the market for an Apple Watch SE<\/a>, I\u2019d hold out for this new model, which should finally launch this year. If Apple ends up going with a plastic Apple Watch SE<\/a>, I\u2019d also expect a bunch of fun colors<\/a> to come alongside it.<\/p>\n

Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3<\/h2>\n

The higher-end Apple Watches, on the other hand, shouldn\u2019t introduce any sort of new design. Gurman says they\u2019ll \u2018probably stay roughly the same.\u2019 However, that doesn\u2019t mean there won\u2019t be anything to look forward to.<\/p>\n

Apple Watch Ultra<\/a> 3 should be gaining support<\/a> for satellite connectivity and 5G RedCap, vastly expanding users connectivity options. Apple will also likely introduce high blood pressure detection on both Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch Ultra 3 later this year. Apple\u2019s blood pressure readings<\/a> won\u2019t give users exact numbers, but instead warn users of anything they should be aware of:<\/p>\n

The blood-pressure feature\u2026is designed to work in a similar way to Apple\u2019s sleep apnea detector. It won\u2019t give users specific readings \u2014 such as diastolic or systolic levels \u2014 but it will inform them that they may be in a state of hypertension.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Blood pressure monitoring was initially expected to debut in Apple Watch Series 10, but got delayed<\/a> due to the new, thinner design of the watch. Apple should be ready to launch it this year, however.<\/p>\n

Gurman also mentions that Apple is working on a new AI coaching service and an all new health app, though timing is unclear. These additions should coincide with the launch of AirPods with heart rate monitoring<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wrap up<\/h2>\n

If all of these rumors come to fruition, it sounds like Apple will be refreshing every single Apple Watch model at once, something the company hasn\u2019t done since 2022, where they introduced Apple Watch SE 2, Apple Watch Series 8, and the original Apple Watch Ultra<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We were expecting this in 2024, but instead of Apple Watch Ultra<\/a> 3, we just got a new black titanium Apple Watch Ultra 2<\/a> instead, and the new Apple Watch SE mysteriously never shipped. Nonetheless, hopefully everything works out this year.<\/p>\n
