LA fire department issues new immediate evacuation<\/h2>\n<\/header>\n

The LA <\/strong>fire <\/strong>department<\/strong> issued a new immediate evacuation order at 7pm local time on Friday for the Palisades fire<\/strong>. It affects the following areas:<\/p>\n

It covers Sunset Boulevard<\/strong> north to Encino Reservoir<\/strong> and from the 405 Freeway <\/strong>west<\/strong> to Mandeville Canyon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The area was previously under an evacuation warning, but it is now an immediate evacuation order.<\/p>\n

Earlier, US officials declared a public health emergency<\/strong> due to the California<\/a> fires.<\/p>\n

The LA department of public health said it had declared a local health emergency and issued a public health officer order in response \u201cto the widespread impacts of the ongoing multiple critical fire events and windstorm conditions\u201d. The order applies to all areas of Los Angeles<\/a> county.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the department said:<\/p>\n

<\/svg>The fires, coupled with strong winds, have severely degraded air quality by releasing hazardous smoke and particulate matter, posing immediate and long-term risks to public health.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It advises anyone who must go outside for long periods of time in areas with heavy smoke or where ash is present to wear an N95 or P100 mask<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
