{"id":832194,"date":"2025-03-07T08:11:52","date_gmt":"2025-03-07T14:11:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/07\/dfe-alerts-contractors-to-15-4bn-schools-framework\/"},"modified":"2025-03-07T08:11:52","modified_gmt":"2025-03-07T14:11:52","slug":"dfe-alerts-contractors-to-15-4bn-schools-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/07\/dfe-alerts-contractors-to-15-4bn-schools-framework\/","title":{"rendered":"DfE alerts contractors to \u00a315.4bn schools framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"wrapper_sleeve\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"620\" height=\"412\" src=\"https:\/\/emap-romulus-prod.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2017\/03\/Generic-education-schools-classroom-resized_660.jpg\"   alt=\"Generic-education-schools-classroom-resized_660.jpg\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Department for Education (DfE) is set to unveil a \u00a315.4bn construction framework, it has announced.<\/p>\n<p>The new framework is planned to run for six years, from December 2025 to December 2031, with a two-year extension period possible afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Potential work involves construction jobs in all areas of England, covering primary, secondary, special schools and further education buildings.<\/p>\n<p>The DfE is holding the last of a series of bidders\u2019 events on Monday (10 March), after which a full tender notice for the Construction Framework (CF25) panel will be published.<\/p>\n<p>Officials from the DfE and Cabinet Office will be among the speakers at the hour-long engagement session, which will be held on Microsoft Teams.<\/p>\n<p>Suppliers can sign-up for registration <a href=\"https:\/\/events.teams.microsoft.com\/event\/a6514248-a64b-4c62-87f2-4403929e0f80@fad277c9-c60a-4da1-b5f3-b3b8b34a82f9\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new programme will replace the existing four-year CF21, which is set to expire in November 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Worth \u00a37bn, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/bam-construct\/contractors-revealed-on-dfes-7bn-framework-01-12-2021\/\">previous iteration<\/a> was introduced in November 2021 and included a total of 22 lots.<\/p>\n<p>Tier one contractors such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/bam-construct\/\">Bam<\/a>, Bowmer &#038; Kirkland, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/kier\/\">Kier<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/wates\/\">Wates<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/willmott-dixon\/\">Willmott Dixon<\/a> landed places in the highest-value lots for projects valued at \u00a312m or more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/morgan-sindall\/\">Morgan Sindall<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/isg\/\">ISG<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/galliford-try\/\">Galliford Try<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/contractors\/tilbury-douglas\/\">Tilbury Douglas<\/a> also won places on all eight medium-value (\u00a36m to \u00a312m) regional lots in CF21.<\/p>\n<p>Kier won a place on all 12 low-value lots for projects up to \u00a36m.<\/p>\n<p>Bowmer &#038; Kirkland was the DfE\u2019s top supplier in the 2023\/24 financial year, data obtained by <em>Construction News<\/em> under the Freedom of Information Act showed.<\/p>\n<p>It received \u00a3313.5m from the department in the period, up from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/buildings\/dfes-top-contractors-revealed-30-08-2023\/\">\u00a3197m in the prior year<\/a>, when it was also the contractor that received the most money from the DfE.<\/p>\n<p>Bam Construct was the second largest supplier in 2023\/24, earning \u00a3176.7m, while Kier was third with \u00a3167m.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/government\/dfe-alerts-contractors-to-15-4bn-schools-framework-06-03-2025\/\" class=\"button purchase\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Read More<\/a><br \/>\n Ian Weinfass<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department for Education (DfE) is set to unveil a \u00a315.4bn construction framework, it has announced.
