{"id":831284,"date":"2025-03-03T13:11:57","date_gmt":"2025-03-03T19:11:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/03\/we-are-united-under-him-labour-party-names-peter-obi-2027-presidential-candidate\/"},"modified":"2025-03-03T13:11:57","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T19:11:57","slug":"we-are-united-under-him-labour-party-names-peter-obi-2027-presidential-candidate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsycanuse.com\/index.php\/2025\/03\/03\/we-are-united-under-him-labour-party-names-peter-obi-2027-presidential-candidate\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018We Are United Under Him\u2019 \u2013 Labour Party Names Peter Obi 2027 Presidential Candidate"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<h2>The Labour Party (LP) has endorsed Peter Obi as its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.<\/h2>\n<p>The National Publicity Secretary of the party, <strong>Abayomi Arabambi<\/strong>, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Abeokuta, Ogun State.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Labour Party has confidence in the ability of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.naijanews.com\/topic\/peter-obi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peter Obi<\/a><\/strong> to unseat <strong>President Bola Tinubu<\/strong> in the 2027 elections.<\/p>\n<p>The party also endorsed <strong>Governor Alex Otti<\/strong> of Abia State\u2019s re-election bid and <strong>Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour<\/strong> as the party\u2019s flag bearer in Lagos State.<\/p>\n<p>Arabambi, who said the party is united under the leadership of Obi, added that Nigerians, and especially the youths would vote massively for the party\u2019s candidate.<\/p>\n<p>He said, <em>\u201cOur major focus is getting the APC out of office only through the ballot box if Nigerians so desire, and not through illegitimate means\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>He said, \u201cPeter Obi would once again represent the LP in the 2027 presidential race, and reiterated the party\u2019s determination to support Governor Otti\u2019s re-election bid in Abia and Rhodes-Vivour\u2019s gubernatorial candidate in Lagos\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are united in our resolve to bring about a better Nigeria under the leadership of Peter Obi.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Naija News<\/strong> reports Obi was the Labour Party\u2019s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.
